so- that's the way it is.
I am a 31 year old student, student at the design faculty at the Holon Institute of technology (H.I.T) in Israel. I focused on Interactive design. though I had some regrets (it was always looking like the print guys had more fun) I decided to do it the best that I can. it's an extended semester and I started to think about this now.
well right now you are probably asking yourself "What the hell is he talking about?"
so here it is as I am laying it down for you:
What The hell am I talking about?
my final project is all about teaching you guys to think greener. you see, I were always - well, at least most of the late time - AWARE. and why? because I hate the summer. the Israeli summer is hot, heavy, thick with ultra-high percent of humidity which makes it unbearable. yet people all around the world still enjoy the concept of the summer. well, I don't like that time in the year when I am getting to the bathroom to take a shower because I am sweaty, just when I am after it and toweling myself dry, I am getting all sweaty again. that's sucks. rain, cold weather, coats, cappuccino, scarfs and rosy-cheeked women are my own personal preference, thank you very much. when people are being upset about when it's rains - it's something that I can't see through.
global warming is on the go. we are not lizards, birds or what so ever, we are mammals, and if you Practically hate the winter time, that means that you are an un aware of the aspects. as for this times, rains and chills are the greatest thing we can ask for.
you see - in the last 100 years the UN came to a conclusion that the world's temperature climbed up in average more then 0.74 degrees Celsius. and this affects the whole globe, not just where we, the people, live. the the north pole icicles are melting away, living no more room for the Polar bear and for the Emperor penguins , which both face extinction till the year 2100.
and this - this in not just effecting our arctic animals, but also our own life. since the icicles are going through a melt-down, just like with any ice that is melting, the sea is overflowing, even as we speak. this over-flowing is going to take over Florida, San Francisco, Beijing, Shanghai, Calcutta, and one of my first and personal place in the world - The Netherlands. the Nederlands, as a matter of fact, is going to get the impact first, because of it's surface is lower then - or at the same level - as the sea surface. yes, the risk of flood is here, and it's about to go on.
learning to swim is a good idea at the moment, but if you planning to build an ark - don't make it out of wood, at least don't cut wood especially for it. you see, the biggest issue about the whole global warming concept is the CO^2 emission all around. this gas, which is a natural gas, donates alot to the whole global warming thing, since it creates a greenhouse effect, where the heat can not escape of the atmosphere. trees - trees transform the CO^2 to O, which is oxygen. WE NEED OXYGEN. it's our.. oxygen. if all we do is cut down trees and emitting CO^2 to the world with our power-plants and industries, the world is going kaput. yes, the industrial revolution, like any human revolution is a blessing served with a curse by it's side. and this curse turn to be the main course.
yes, we got used to work with our computers, enjoy the long day thanks to the electric light, warming and cooling, can cook our food and can drive around in our cars. we can transmit information through air, we can do amazing magical things, but, can we keep it cool? I know we can.
we can learn to embrace changes, we can learn to keep our place clean and be kind to one another. thank god, we are amazing mammals .
